Rare and large oval shaped ‘Eros’ dining table designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in 1971. Made out of white Carrara marble. Part of the Eros series designed for Skipper in the seventies, Italy. Made out of a solid oval tabletop on two columnar supports. All of the Eros pieces feature no traditional joints or clamps. Mangiarotti’s structural design of each piece involves gravity-based tension whereby the sections of the base "lock” into a preset position within the top, increasing the overall stability of the entire structure. Extraordinarily elegant in its simplicity – its distinctive aesthetics having been born from this remarkable structural innovation. Slight damage on the top, visible in the pictures. Overal good vintage condition.
